Remaining AKC Rounds Postponed
With growing COVID restrictions this week, Karting Australia has decided to postpone next week’s round 4 of the Australian Kart Championship and will push back the fifth round as well.

Temporary Tyre Rule Change
Karting Australia has advised its licence holders of a temporary change to the permitted wet weather tyres in the Cadet 9, Cadet 12 and KA4 classes, allowing various tyres from Vega, Dunlop, MG and Mojo to be used alongside the regulated Bridgestone.

Green Light Still On for AKC Round
Karting Australia has confirmed it intends for the Australian Kart Championship round scheduled for July 23-25 at the Puckapunyal circuit in regional Victoria to go ahead. Interstate competitors will have to obtain the relevant travel permit to enter Victoria.

A couple of Aussies have been performing well overseas the past week. Griffin Peebles celebrated his final event in the Mini class with a podium at the latest Italian Championship round, while Lachlan Robinson just missed the podium at the second round of the BNL Karting Series in Belgium.

Tyre Prices for 2022
The Recommended Retail Pricing has been revealed for the LeCont and Maxxis kart tyres that will be used in almost all Karting Australia classes from 2022. The figures here include GST but not freight.

FIA ‘Kart Body Protection’ Now In Use
Competitors in OK and OK-Junior at the Genk round of the European Championship last month wore the new FIA homologated Kart Body Protection vests, which will become mandatory in FIA Competitions from January next year.
