A gamble on slicks has paid off for William Calleja, winning the second round of the WSK Super Master Series at Cremona overnight.
The Italy-based Melbournian qualified down the field in 21st but fought his way into the top ten in all the heats and placed second in the pre-final. Starting P7, he put in yet another strong run, sliding his way to the front and setting fastest lap on the way to victory.

Lewis Francis was the best of the rest of the Australians, carding 14th (with a nosecone penalty) in the OK final. Dante Vince was ranked fifth in OK after the heats (and taking his first WSK heat victory on the way) but had a terrible opening lap and eventually DNFd the final.
