Vale Glenn Passmore

Sad news has come through from Western Australia of the passing of Exmouth Kart Club Life Member and former President Glenn Passmore who succumbed to illness on Friday.

Glenn touched many lives in the karting world in WA and both of his sons are members of the Exmouth club, Aiden as Vice President and Kieran on the committee.

The club posted the following touching tribute:

“Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever”

It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of one of our own. Life Member and former President, Glenn Passmore, passed away on Friday after a brave fight with Bowel Cancer.

Glenn was well known in the karting community, especially in the North West. His contributions to our club and the sport for more than 20 years has seen him touch many lives as an influential, positive role model.

He was the epitome of everything that’s good about karting: friendship, enjoyment, larger than life characters and above all was a gentleman in the true sense of the word. A truly, madly, deeply, lovely guy – always welcoming, always gallant, ready to help and support where he could.

“Glenn, it is very difficult to imagine our club without you. Words like ‘exemplary’ are not wasted upon you. We feel extraordinarily privileged to have raced, officiated, or worked alongside you, spectated with you and appreciated your very special friendship. Your warm, easy-going personality and sense of humour will leave a lasting memory with us all.”

We’re sure everyone who is, and has been, associated with our club feels the same.

On behalf of the Exmouth Kart Club we offer our heartfelt condolences to Anna, Aiden, Kieran and family.

Glenn’s funeral will be held on Thursday 9th March at Karrakatta commencing at 2pm.
