New drivers and new winners featured at the opening round of the Gippsland Go Kart Club’s 2023 Championship at Morwell on Sunday.
Warragul’s Xander Rowse made the ideal start to his karting career, winning the Cadet 9 class on his debut drive.

Newborough’s Cameron Anderson moved up from juniors in the off-season and scored his first win in the Senior ranks, taking a narrow victory in KA3 Medium over the Wicks brothers.

KA3 Senior Light had last year’s front runners in the top placings once more, Jamie Rowe winning over Isabel Rowe. Nick Popple was third with Harley Bright just off the podium in fourth.
Having contested the SuperNats in Las Vegas last year, Cohen Naumann returned to racing at Morwell and won the KA3 Junior Light division over Cody Boys and Thomas Hickson. Ryan Wyhoon took out KA3 Junior Heavy.
