The spectacular, undulating and difficult to master Newcastle kart track is about to be resurfaced.
The club’s committee confirmed the news with members today. The NKRC Board has been working with Karting Australia and will tap into KA’s Track Development Fund to assist with the upgrade.
“Work begins in only two weeks with major repairs (to be) undertaken” the club posted.
“Not long after that the entire track surface will undergo a full refurbishment!!! Along with the track surface refurbishment we are planning some major update work in the pit area to improve not only the racing but the full experience from your pit area to the track!!!”
The facility will be closed on the following dates:
- Stage 1 – Monday 22nd February through to and including Sunday 28th February
- Stage 2 – Monday 15th March through to and including Sunday 21st of March.
“The Board of NKRC would like to thank everyone in advance for your patients (sic) over the next two months as we undertake these works.”
