Red Flag Can’t Stop Tassie Speedway Kart Titles

from Brady Tyler

On the 6th of January 2018 the Tasmanian Speedway Kart Club held their 2018 Tasmanian Speedway Kart Titles at Hobart Speedway.

There was a massive field of karts which in turn created a split field in all three categories, providing for 28 exciting heat races!

The racing, as to be expected for a Title, was definitely very fast and competitive with multiple lap records being broken as well as drivers taking their first ever heat wins.

After getting through 28 heat races it was time for the elusive A-Mains to be contested over 15 Laps.

The 125s hit the track and after several restarts there was a major accident which caused a lengthy delay. This in turn caused the A-Mains to be dropped due to unforeseen circumstances.

After lengthy discussions, there was no other option but to declare the Titles based on qualifying positions after the 4 rounds of heat races. This is disappointing however there was never going to be an easy option nor is it possible please everybody.
