Gosford To Host Australian Speedway Kart Titles

2018 is Central Coast Speedway Kart Clubs (CCSKC) 20th Year Anniversary, having started in 1998. What better way to throw a party than to host the Australian Speedway Karting titles at Gosford Showground.

Racers, officials, support crews and spectators will descend upon Gosford Showground for 2 days of racing on September 8th and 9th. Davistown RSL has come on board as major sponsor for the titles and is an ongoing supporter of the club.

The Australian titles are held at Gosford bi-annually and are expected to attract around 75 competitors in categories including Cadet 9, Cadet 12, KA3 & KA4 Junior, KA3 Senior, KT Light, KT Medium, Sportsman and TAG125.

CCSKC Club President Bill Morley had the following to say about the event:

“The Australian Speedway Go Kart Titles is a much-anticipated event each year in the Speedway Go Kart community, and the Central Coast Speedway Go Kart Club (CCSKC) is proud and excited to be hosting the 2018 event at Gosford Showground. We are passionate about bringing these sort of sporting opportunities to Gosford and we hope the Central Coast community will come along on the day and see what it is all about.”

“Speedway Go Kart drivers from all over the country will come and test their skills against each other for the pride of being the Title holder in each of our racing classes, from 7 years old right through to veterans in their 60s. A large proportion of these drivers will be locals from the Central Coast and Hunter regions.

“We have quite a few budding motorsport careers within our membership at CCSKC, and we cannot wait to showcase it for the Central Coast. We are also hopeful to receive a lot more interest in the sport over the Titles weekend from local Central Coast families who would like to get involved in this exciting sport. Our club philosophy is tough but friendly competition and family atmosphere”.

The event represents another fantastic sporting event for the Gosford region, bringing hundreds of people to the area from far and wide. Fuel, food, parts and accommodation sourced locally, provide a great injection into the region’s economy.

Entries for the titles are now OPEN, Spectators are welcome for FREE, however enclosed shoes must be worn to access the pit area.

Food and drink is available at the event via the club kiosk (renowned for the best chicken burger in motorsport).
