NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS WEEK: CHEREE EVERINGHAM
Born and bred in Dubbo, Cheree Everingham didn’t realise what it meant for her future when a family friend introduced her son Tyler to kart racing.
“It was only a couple of years and I took the role of secretary/treasurer, and worked the canteen, but then took a step back when our son went to cars,” she says, talking of her 2018 Super3 Series and 2019 Mike Cable Young Gun Award winning son, Tyler.
In 2023 she got involved again, this time stepping up to the President/Secretary role, while also taking on Vice President duties for Karting Australia NSW.”
“We’ve met so many great people along the way through volunteering, some of which have become lifelong friends. There’s just so many different roles you can do, and the community atmosphere we have at Dubbo is fantastic, so I highly recommend volunteering in Karting! It’s extremely rewarding!”
Thankyou Cheree! It’s legends like you that keep the wheels turning in Australian Karting!
Every Kart club could use more helpers, so if you’d like to volunteer, talk to your local club about ways you can get involved.
As part of National Volunteers week, we want to acknowledge the amazing people across the nation that keep the karting wheels turning. Without you, we simply can’t go racing!
