Australian Cadet driver Cruz Priolo has taken victory at the opening round of the IAME Series Asia at LYL International in Malaysia on the weekend.
After qualifying second fastest, Priolo had dropped to eighth after the heats. But in the final, he managed to quickly get to the front of the field and was placed P2 when the race went yellow. A restart with just two laps to go, Priolo charged back into the lead and gapped the field as the battle behind intensified.

Also in Cadet, honourable mentions must go to Hudson Kelly and Ryder Xiong. Kelly was dead last (34th) after the heats and recovered to 10th, while Xiong finished second on the road in the final, but was relegated to 25th post race.
A second victory for Australia was on the cards with Darren Formosa sitting on pole for the Masters final. Unfortunately, his kart ground to a halt on the formation lap and was not able to take the start.
