The Eastern Lions Kart Club is planning to run a Junior 4SS class at its club race days at Puckapunyal in 2026.

Ringwood Kart Centre’s Ian “Moksy” Branson told KartSportNews it was likely there’d be 10 to 12 kids contest the first event on February 15, which doubles as the first round of the Victorian 4SS Trail.

The club has been running Senior 4-Stroke classes for several years and Moksy is hoping these competitors can help grow a division for Juniors.

“I’m calling for seniors who have a 4SS to engage a junior driver for the class” he said.

“Basically, pick a kid that fits your kart. The juniors use the same kart and engine, so they just need to be able to reach the pedals.”

The ELKC will offer a Junior class for the first few club days of the year. This will continue on the provision that the numbers justify it.

“We need to get some kids out there and racing, because numbers breed numbers” Branson added.

As mentioned, ELKC’s February race day is also round 1 of the Victorian 4SS Trail. This series allows 4SS drivers to compete at eight different venues throughout the year, but they are specifically “club day only” race meetings.

The 4SS Trail dates are below. The Eastern Lions club runs a club race day every month except January and August.

4SS owners looking for a junior driver, or junior drivers looking for a start in a 4SS kart, should contact Ian Branson for more information: 0419 882 132
