The newest karting facility in New Zealand has been officially opened by some of the country’s most celebrated motorsport figures.
Six-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon plus former karting stars Mitch Evans and Jonny Reid attended the ceremony at the Auckland based complex. Dixon’s five-year-old son, Kit, turned the circuit’s first official laps.

The circuit is named in honour of the late Sir Colin Giltrap, a name known to every Kiwi motorsport enthusiast. Giltrap’s passion, dedication and commitment to motorsport in New Zealand has helped shape the future of Kiwi talent internationally for decades.
“It is a fitting tribute that New Zealand’s newest KartSport facility bears his name and that his legacy can continue as we develop the future champions and honour the man who gave so much to the sport we love” GiltrapTV posted.
