This weekend the Eastern Lions Kart Club is going 90s retro, hosting the Retro Karting Australia Nationals. A staple event in the retro karting calendar, it is a must attend event as the team at Puckapunyal with their track, facility and hospitality always put on an amazing event.
The 2024 edition saw almost 100 entries over 5 classes and this year is gearing up to be another big one with entries so far received from VIC, NSW, ACT, QLD and TAS.
Part of this race meeting is the traditional Saturday night roast held in the clubhouse and this year the presentation for the Oceania Series and prizes will be included.

F100
This year F100 have run at a ‘Pro’ weight as opposed to light and heavy to ensure a good consistent field size at every event and it appears to have worked. However, that means only 1 current F100 champion can possibly go back-to-back (Steven Riddell and Paul Rodgers). Given the quality and depth of the field this race is wide open. Greg Ritter has been the stand out this year so far who has been consistently fast and reliable, claiming the 2025 Oceania Series.

Clubman Light
A big field of lights is forming and with it brings a lot of wheel-to-wheel action. A whole host of fast and consistent performers in 2025 will be chasing Chris Sandrone who impressively wrapped up the Oceania Series with a round to spare and is the defending Australian champion.

Clubman Heavy
It’s hard to put a form guide together for Heavy as defending champion Trevor Whitby hasn’t been with us since the opening round at Albury and there are a number of entries who haven’t raced throughout the year joining in. But keep your eyes on Oceania Series champion Bryce Hanson and 2nd place finisher Stephen Roffe.

Clubman Super Heavy
The super heavies always put on a show and at a track like Pucka it goes to the next level. So many drivers could take the win here on their day as the talent in this field runs deep but defending champion and 2025 Oceania Champion David Musgrave will be the one they’re all looking at.

If the F100s didn’t make enough noise already, Kev “The Noise” Davies will be on site providing his commentary flair and streaming the races live and free on his facebook page HERE. With the coveted green plate and Australia 1 on the line expect big fields, fantastic racing and lots of banter RKA style.
