The NSW-based Dunlop Kart Stars Championship concluded with the seventh and final round in Canberra on the weekend.

Karting NSW has hailed the success of the inaugural running of the series, stating it surpassed all expectations and set a new benchmark for karting in NSW.

“This inaugural series has truly exceeded our expectations, delivering outstanding results for both the karting community and New South Wales,” said Greg McLandsborough, Director of Competition at Karting NSW.

“Each participating club welcomed excellent entry numbers, and the positive financial outcomes will help ensure the ongoing growth and success of our sport across the state.”

The championship attracted nearly 1,000 total entries, with a cash prize pool approaching $45,000. Spanning seven rounds at seven different tracks, the series featured both individual class championships and a teams championship, fostering healthy rivalries, new friendships, and the rekindling of old ones. The competition took racers from the Sapphire Coast in the south, to the Manning Valley in the north, and west to Grenfell – where racing returned for the first time since 2019.

This achievement was made possible through the ongoing partnership with Dunlop Kartsport, a steadfast supporter of karting for over 40 years. “Dunlop is proud to be partnering with Karting NSW for the series, which has been an excellent opportunity to promote grassroots motorsport in NSW and beyond,” said Les May, Managing Director of Dunlop Kartsport. “We look forward to an even bigger and better series in 2026”.

Looking ahead, the Dunlop Kart Stars Championship will return in 2026, with Round 1 set to take place at Canberra Kart Racing Club on January 31–February 1.

Karting NSW extends its gratitude to all participating clubs, competitors, sponsors and supporters for making this inaugural series a landmark achievement. The organization looks forward to building on this momentum and continuing to grow the sport of karting across New South Wales.
