RKA – Chelsea Preen got the metal microphone out at Grenfell to interview a bunch of drivers contesting the recent Tony Agland Memorial:
COMPUTER SPONSOR – Lenovo has been announced as the title sponsor of CRG’s official Kali-branded team, now titled Lenovo Kali Kart Team, dedicated to developing drivers under the age of 16. The global tech giant will partner with the Italian manufacturer in a multi-year deal to provide world-class technology infrastructure, from high-performing workstations and Motorola smartphones to high-speed data acquisition, analysis, design and remote collaboration. Additionally, a new Lenovo Kart Academy will be created to nurture the most talented drivers. First on-track appearance of the new branding will be at the FIA Karting World Cup at Cremona, Italy, at the end of the month.

JUNIOR DAYS – Karting Australia’s Junior Sprockets Introductory program will be running in the September School Holidays at Toowoomba, Ipswich, Dubbo and Sydney kart clubs – see dates, below. Junior Sprockets is a great way for children to start their karting journey with all karts and safety equipment provided under the guidance of expert instructors. SPEEDWAY EXEC – The Speedway Karting Association of Australasia held its AGM in August, welcoming the following Management committee for the 2025/26 season:

- General committee – David Dormer, Damien Christian, Bailey Hall
UGLY SAFETY – Tkart reports these rear wheel pods will be tested in competition by the entire Junior Academy Trophy field at the FIA Karting World Cup in Italy later this month. The intent is for them to be compulsory at (as yet unspecified) international events. They are designed to address the safety issue of karts riding over exposed wheels. CONCUSSION – A father’s take on the application of concussion rules in UK karting:
VEGAS COACH – David Sera is finalising his coaching campaign for the SKUSA SuperNations in Las Vegas, with just two spots left under the Kart class banner. “The event is like no other” Sera said. “A street circuit, where no driver has previously raced on, with ever changing track conditions… they need guidance on how to approach a large race weekend, how to drive on street circuits and most importantly, how to win against the worlds best!”

INDUSTRY – American karting industry veteran Andy Seesemann has taken over the day-to-day operation of Courtney Concepts. Established by Mike Courtney over 25 years go, the company has developed partnerships with manufacturers in the karting industry from around the globe. “I am very excited with this opportunity to be part of Courtney Concepts,” stated Seesemann. “The work and partnerships that Mike has developed over the last few decades has provided many karters with the best products on the market. My goal is to help continue those relationships and expand our product line moving into the future.”

JOINT FORCES – Crack karting team Ricky Flynn Motorsport (RFM) and the Trident race car team have joined forces. Their collaboration aims to support talented young drivers as they progress from karting into professional car racing. With multiple World and European titles to its name, RFM has an outstanding track record that includes five RFM drivers in Formula 1 in recent years. Trident, a respected and championship-winning team in F2, F3 and Formula Regional, will be expanding in 2026 with an F4 program. “This new venture provides the ideal platform for RFM drivers to progress beyond karting, supported by a team with proven success” read a joint statement. “Through this partnership, RFM will guide drivers from OK Junior to OK Senior categories before transitioning them to Trident, where they will continue their development through the single-seater ladder.”

MILESTONE – Australian Motorsport and Karting Hall of Famer Drew Price celebrated a milestone birthday recently. The DPE founder turned 70 on August 29. When he was just 16, the Melbournian saw an opportunity to grow karting in Australia. Along with his father Trevor, Drew jetted off to the US to secure distribution rights to some of the best karting products of the time – and the rest, as they say, is history.

2026 EUROS – BRP-Rotax and WSK Promotion have revealed the planned 2026 European Rotax MAX Challenge calendar, kicking off with a Winter Cup in January, then a four-round RMC Euro Trophy rounds from March to September (Pending ASN confirmation):
