Another fabulous Retro Karting Australia meeting done and dusted, this time at another new track, the resurfaced Grenfell Bogolong circuit.

This was the 2025 Tony Agland Memorial meeting which was contested by the Clubmans Light, Heavy and Super Heavy classes.

The Vintage Kart Club was also in attendance for this one, about 15 karts hitting the track, including some of the RKA members.

There was even a raffle where this restored kart was won by Scot Sherrington (pic – Kev Davies)

In the Clubman Super Heavy class, the Over 50s was won by Bruce Otter. In the race for the Tony Agland Memorial title, there was no stopping Dave Musgrave, he dominated all weekend long and it was always going to be the best of the rest.

Earlier in the weekend Matt Long wasn’t too confident with the kart performing to his liking, but the threat of whipped cream seemed to spur him on to an unforgettable performance in the final bringing the #45 kart home in second holding off a late charge from Choppy Ford who finished 3rd.

In Clubman Light, ya can’t keep a good man down and Chinuts “don’t Google it” was the Over 50s winner. This one was a case of ohhh-so-close for Ryan Bell. After being in with a strong chance of a podium in the final, the engine let him down. Taking a well deserved win was Lucas Lichtenberger, fending off the hard charging Mitch Croke who pulled off a fabulous 2nd place. Drive of the day surely goes to Travis Lichtenberger coming from the back in the final to achieve a 3rd place finish, and but for a couple of mistakes it could have been second.

In the Clubman Heavy class we were treated to a fabulous battle at the front which had more twists than a crime novel. Adam Pisula was in with a great shot of victory but a coming together into the last turn unfortunately saw him retire with 4 laps remaining. Stephen Roffe was once again at the front all final long and he managed to hold on to second place despite being caught in the final turn incident. A huge shout out to the P-plater Thomas MacDonald for getting a fabulous 3rd place. But there was no denying the pace all weekend long of Bryce Hanson, quickest lap of the final a 44.402 and a fabulous victory.

Many more drivers were involved in some fabulous racing which kept the crowd and indeed myself on the edge of my seat. Now we move onto Puckapunyal for the 2025 RKA Nationals where we welcome back the F100s!
