from Karting Victoria

A big turn out of over 260 drivers were competing across 12 classes at Round 3 of the 2025 Golden Power Series held at the Gippsland Go Kart Club May 17 and 18.

Cool, overcast and dull conditions broke the states great run of sunny weather on the first day of the event for practice, qualifying and the three quarters of heat 1 that were completed, with many of the local Gippsland drivers shining securing a pole position or leading in their respective classes.

Everyone at the meeting paid tribute to Gippsland Go-Kart Club stalwart, long time race official, Karting Victoria life member and one of the original people responsible for getting the Golden Power Series up and going Graeme Monds, with a moments silence at drivers briefing. Graeme’s partner Jeanette Monds was also present at the club continuing on Graeme’s legacy doing great work as an official and club helper at the event. Boxes of Cherry Ripes were also handed out to everyone at the event, one of Graeme’s favourites.
