Podiums at IAME Asia

An Australian finished on the podium in each of the three classes at the second round of the INF1NITY IAME Series Asia at LYL International Karting Circuit, Malaysia, last weekend.

Ky Burke had a sensational run in X30 Senior, qualifying fastest and top ranked after the heats. He dropped several positions in the opening laps of the final before rain resulted in a red-flagged, allowing everyone to switch to wets. On a total re-set, Burke was back off pole for the “re-start”, eventually taking second place.

Jack Larson qualified second in X30 Junior before taking third in the final. He got into the lead at the start of the final lap, only to be launched a few corners later.

Jay Kostecki finished third in the X30 Cadet final, the top four covered by less than 0.8s at the line.

Jaiden Pope qualified 5th in Senior, but seized an engine due to water loss while leading the opening heat.

“The remainder of the weekend was spent recovering from this setback” he wrote. Starting P12 for the final, he was “inside the top 5 by lap 3-4 and contending for the win.” However, he lacked pace in the wet after the red-flag, placing eighth.
