This fantastic photo of the Russell family sums up the reason for some sad news we must impart. Family is everything and trumps everything!!

As you all know Drew’s Dad Wayne recently passed away not only leaving a very large void in their family but also his much loved family business, Go-Karts-Go. Wayne always said they had the very best job in the world – selling fun! So of course Drew, Aaren and Mandy are very keen to see the fun go on and prosper!
So with that in mind it is with a very heavy heart that Drew has made the decision to resign from his role as General Manager for Karting NSW. This is effective immediately which we support as I am sure you all understand Drew and his family have a tough time ahead. Wayne worked alongside Drew and Aaren every day in their family business Go-Karts-Go.
When Drew first took on the role as General Manager it was with Wayne’s blessing who very generously agreed to share Drew with us. With Wayne’s passing Drew now needs to devote all his time to the family business and family which we fully understand.
Drew was contracted to work part time but worked well and beyond that, working many many unpaid hours. It is impossible to list all the things Drew achieved in his time in the role, suffice to say of course he did an amazing job! Every single day Drew made a positive difference. His business acumen, problem solving skills, educated decision making ability, knowledge of karting and wisdom meant he was an invaluable team member.
He has a real knack for finding and cutting excess expenditure. Our impressive financial results are a direct result of Drew’s relentless pursuit of excellence in this area. We will definitely miss having Drew in this role and we’d like to thank him for both his time on the Board and then as General Manager. We certainly have some very big racing shoes to fill!! We will remain in touch with Drew as a friend and karting family member and we wish him and his family the very best.
Whilst we work out a replacement in this role our Training Director Matt Hill has very generously offered to step in as Acting General Manager in a volunteer capacity. Matt has been working closely with Drew and is across all the current objectives and tasks. We’d like to thank Matt for taking this role on.
So, as we turn our focus to filling Drews enormous shoes we’re looking for someone who is keen to continue Drews remarkable contribution. If you are interested in the role of General Manager please contact Belinda at chair@kartingnsw.com.au to express your interest.
