Push bars to help push start ROK DVS competitors in New Zealand have been approved by Kartsport New Zealand.
“The use of a starting push bar will be permitted for the Vortex ROK DVS classes, both Junior and Senior” the organisation posted.
The manual push bars will assist those who require them in the starting of their karts on the out grid, and for on-track restarts.
“The use of the push bar is limited to the pushing on the rear bumper only and may not be used to push a kart via its seat or any other part of the kart. Those handling the push bar should also be mindful of fellow drivers. A Race Official or Tech Official may direct anyone deemed to be unsafely using the push bar to stop their use of it for the remainder of an event.”
Anyone can manufacturer their own push bar, but it must be fabricated to meet Kartsport NZ’s guideline (below) and be free of any sharp edges.
