Kartsport New Zealand has published the financial statements for its most recent trading year, plus the result of the annual elections and make-up of the National Board.
CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHT – ANNUAL FINANCIALS
As a registered incorporated society, KartSport New Zealand must complete and distribute annual financial statements to both the government and its affiliated clubs ahead of the AGM/National Conference.
With significant changes to how the organization operates in recent years, particularly with the restructuring of the nationwide tyre distribution, naturally the sport had requested further financial transparency. In conjunction with the annual financial performance statement, this year saw an expansion of the Treasurer’s finance statement to offer incredible, never before disclosed detail on the operational aspects of the organization.
The finance statement covers a wide variety of topics in depth, including:
• Overview of the sport’s Spotlight Reporting software integration
• Journey of financial recovery through FY24
• Highlighting KartSport’s liquidity monitor tracking (current assets, less current liabilities)
• Overview of the sources of income for the sport
• A breakdown on the cost makeup of a set of tyres
• Contract/Royalty income
• The 2025 budget
Delegates and observers in attendance had the opportunity to both submit questions in advance, plus during attendance, with some great discussion and further clarification given. Some of those clarifications included:
• Clarified that the costs of any air freight of tyres were not paid for by KartSport New Zealand during the transition period.
• How annual fees work for licence renewals / how they are allocated
• Clarification that KartSport is moving away from royalty-based funding models on supply contracts.
• Breakdown of legal costs
• Clarification that the KartSport New Zealand Board do not receive salaries, but do receive honorariums, unchanged since notified to clubs in 2022.
• Breakdown of contracting/staffing services where possible, while regarding privacy
Anyone wishing to view the annual financial statements may do so by visiting the National Conference page on KartSport New Zealand’s website below. Conference minutes will be uploaded to the Board minutes page, following the next Board meeting. If you have questions on the conference or topics, reaching out to your club committee is a great way to gain further understanding.

Each of the 21 affiliated clubs are eligible to apply one vote per position being elected.
