Building Better Clubs Wrap

Karting Australia’s Building Better Kart Club (BBKC) Conference concluded this past weekend on the Gold Coast, bringing together more than 100 attendees representing Karting Associations and Clubs from across Australia.

The conference served as a platform for sharing insights, fostering collaboration, and exploring strategies to enhance karting experiences at the grassroots level.

Throughout the conference, attendees had the opportunity to engage with industry experts and experienced presenters, including Michael Masi, Samantha Reid, Lauren Batchelor, and Belinda Taylor. Between the quartet, they shared valuable insights on leadership and the importance of teamwork in motorsport. Other topics also included leadership, team building, and event management, offering practical tips and strategies for club officials.  In conjunction with these sessions, was presentations from subject experts on insurance, legal and committee structures along with an insight from Rick Kelly about how to re-invigorate a tired event.

“The BBKC Conference provided a valuable platform for clubs to come together, share ideas, and collaborate on overcoming common challenges,” said Karting Australia Chair Kevin Davis.

“It was pleasing to see so many clubs understanding that by working together and looking at the bigger picture, we can overcome the challenges facing the sport and ensure its continued growth and success.”

The event also featured interactive workshops and discussions on topics such as volunteer management, committee leadership, and club development. Attendees actively participated in sessions aimed at identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices within their respective clubs and associations.


“The level of engagement and enthusiasm from attendees was truly inspiring,” said Davis.

“By coming together to share experiences and ideas, we can ensure that karting continues to thrive and provide enjoyable experiences for participants of all ages.”

Overall, the fourth Building Better Kart Clubs Conference provided Clubs and State Representatives with a significant number of tools to assist in further growing and developing their Club, State and the sport of karting across the country.
