Cockburn Re-Opens

The Cockburn International Kartway in Perth has re-opened to karters after a full resurface that has retained the corner profiles and cambers it was known for.

“It was sublime!” exclaimed karting veteran Kip Foster after taking to the fresh asphalt.

“After a complete reconstruction of the track and its base (over half a metre was removed and completely redone), the result is a new super smooth amazing new surface that is arguably now the best track in Australia.

“Engineers ensured that it was relayed to exactly the existing profiles and cambers that made this circuit legendary. Tiger Kart Club and its members have completed the transformation to the highest level.”

The track ‘officially’ re-opened today with practice sessions, to be followed by a club run on Saturday, April 27.

The club gave those who attended the various Busy Bees an early practice on the new surface. “We really appreciate all the hard work you have put in” the Tiger Kart Club posted.
