The Four Stroke Karting Association of NSW has gone into partnership with Karting HQ Australia to facilitate an arrive-and-drive Tillotson Racing Series at five of its planned eight race meetings next year.
The proposed events are at Canberra, Eastern Creek, Newcastle, Lithgow & Orange.
“This partnership is good for all involved” a joint 4SKANSW/Karting HQ Australia announcement stated.
“This gives our teams and drivers exposure to, and the ability to participate in, a Tillotson powered kart at our race meetings, while assisting in the growth of an exciting four stroke engine on the up and up.
“This also brings potential competitors to our Endurance series and all in all bolsters the participation at our great club.”
The Tillotson series will run a one hour mini-endurance style format on the Saturday of selected events in the lunch break during practice.
Information about the karts available, full calendar with confirmed dates and circuits will be released soon.
“It is important we make it clear that the 2024 engine for the 4SKANSW Inc. Endurance Championship remains the Briggs 206 so you can prepare in confidence based on this for the season ahead” the statement continued.
“We believe both engines play an important role in the four stroke karting landscape, and as a four stroke club are excited to expand our offering next year.
“For our Briggs 206 competitors wondering about how this may affect their practice time, the club intends providing a social BBQ for lunch at these rounds so we can all relax and enjoy the action.
“You will still enjoy a large block of morning and afternoon practice meaning more than enough time and laps to prepare for Sunday.
“We feel we have the balance right to give our competitors more and to be a part of the Tillotson four stroke journey. 2024 promises to be a big year.”
