The Oakleigh Go Kart Racing club has changed the schedule for this weekend’s Rotax Qualifying event, which will now take place in combination with the club’s normal race day on Saturday. Ie, the Rotax classes will not race on Sunday as originally advertised.
“Due to the low number of entries for the Rotax classes at our August Club Day, instead of holding it as a stand alone event on Sunday we have had to make the decision to merge it with our usual club day classes and have all classes run on Saturday” the club posted.
“Due to classes being combined this will also mean the format for Rotax classes will change to State Regulation Format 5 with a 6 minute Qualifying, 3 x 8 lap heats and a 10 lap final. There will be no practise on the day.”
The club will publish a race order on Friday afternoon but has advised it will separate Cadet 12 and Mini MAX to assist those who are running both.

- Gates open at 7am
- Drivers briefing 7:45am
- Qualifying 8am
- Racing at completion of qualifying
It’s possible the meeting could finish under lights, so ensure you have a clear visor!
The circuit will be open for social practice on Thursday night from 5pm to 9pm. Enter via KOMP.
