This weekend will see the most competitors ever to contest the City of Melbourne Titles. A massive 438 entries have been received by the Go Kart Club of Victoria for the 37th running of the event, which this year is sponsored by Four ‘N Twenty pies.
To help keep the meeting on target with its timetable, each race is not a prescribed number of laps. Instead, each heat is 7 minutes plus one lap, and the finals are 11 minutes plus one lap.
Practice (plus tyre and seal scanning) is on Friday (Aug 4), qualifying and heat racing Saturday, then more heats and the main Finals on Sunday. Circuit address: 100 Todd Road, Port Melbourne.
