Ipswich To Host Rotax National Cup

Karting Australia and BRP-Rotax has confirmed the Ipswich Kart Club as the host for the 2023 Rotax National Cup on September 28-30.

The event will feature Rotax classes competing under lights across three nights of action, an event that will coincide with the Queensland State Cup being contested at the venue on the October long weekend.

Leading into the National Cup will be Qualifying Events that form a part of the Rotax MAX Challenge Australia pointscore.

The Ipswich Kart Club will host the 2023 Rotax National Cup on September 28-30

Competing in a Qualifying Event is not a requirement to be eligible to compete in the National Cup.  However, competing in a Qualifying Event is a requirement for a driver to be classified in the 2023 Rotax MAX Challenge Australia pointscore and considered for a position in Team Australia at the 2023 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals.

The Qualifying Events have been designed to not create additional racing events in the already busy Australian Karting Calendar, they will be held in conjunction with existing Events as follows:

  • July 29/30 – Port Macquarie, NSW
  • August 19/20 – Oakleigh, VIC
  • August 19/20 – Newcastle, NSW
  • September 2/3 – Ipswich, QLD (Senior MAX, DD2, DD2 Masters only)
  • September 9/10 – Warwick, QLD (Mini MAX, Junior MAX only)

The 2023 Rotax MAX Challenge Australia Champion will be determined by a point score system that combines a Driver’s finishing position at the National Cup plus one Qualifying Event.  A Driver may compete in more than one Qualifying Event but only their highest scoring Event will be counted in the point score.

Australia’s representatives at the 2023 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals will be announced in the second week of October. Further Details and Regulations for the Rotax MAX Challenge Australia and National Cup will be published next week.
