Three Australians are competing in Europe this weekend, two Cadet racers at the WSK Open series round at “7 Lakes” Italy and a KZ2 driver at the FIA European Championship opener at Zuera, Spain.
After showing great pace in practice, Williams Calleja (Mini) suffered a penalty and had his times wiped from qualifying, meaning at rear-of-field start for all the heats. Strong moves sees the Babyrace driver now ranked 16th (of 42) prior to the Pre-Finals.
Sebastian Eskandari (Tony Kart) will start the Mini Under 10 pre-final from P2. After qualifying 11th (out of 35), Seb carded a 6th, 3rd and a win in the heats.
Meanwhile, Jay Coul (Modena Kart ASD, Parolin/TM) qualified 80th (out of 88 entries) in KZ2 at the European Championships. Jay is ranked 69th after the heat races but would need a miracle in his pre-final to transfer to the final.
