Golden Power Wins for Pro Karting Drivers

Casabene and Harper take out Round 1 of the Golden Power Series

Our 2023 racing season has started off in the best way possible by taking multiple wins at the opening round of the Golden Power Series at the Eastern Lions Kart Club over the past weekend!

Pip Casabene would come out on top in the highly competitive KA3 Junior Light class putting in a commanding drive to take the win by over 2 seconds, Ayce Buckley would end up 4th in the final which was a stellar result since his such little time racing a kart. Zack Gathercole would end the final 21st in his first open meeting and Matthew Ritter would end the weekend with a DNF after racing inside the top 15 all weekend.

We had 4 drivers racing in the KA3 Junior Heavy class, Hugo Garraway would finish 3rd after his second race meeting since joining the team, Darsyn Harris would finish 5th after leading multiple laps in the final. Ashton Ardley would finish the weekend in 11th and Oli Best would end up 18th after a DNF in the third heat would see him start from the rear.

In KA2 we had two representatives in Alexander Yoannidis and Hugo Garraway, Alexander would finish the final in 4th after getting progressively faster throughout the weekend while adjusting to a new kart and Hugo would end up 7th after his podium earlier in KA3 Jnr Heavy.

Lucas Perrone was our soul driver in Tag Restricted Light finishing 16th in the final after starting way back in 30th, setting times that would easily put him in the top 10.

Will Harper took the win in the full capacity field of Tag Light aboard his KR/Prokarting Machine, setting the fastest time while doing so. He would go for the lead with two laps to go and was able to hold them off until the flag. Sebastian Perrone put in a great drive top finish inside the top 15 after starting down in 25th, Jett Buckley didn’t make it past the first turn after getting caught up in a crash after starting out of 10th on the grid, Mark Seddon was a DNS in the final after finishing the the third heat in 11th.

We now turn our attention to the first round of the Australian Kart Championships at Monarto in two weeks time and hope to carry our good form across.
