Mitchell McLellan of MMS Media and Commentating has decided to pull the pin on his karting media and commentary work.
He will no longer be writing press releases for teams and drivers or contributing race reports to KartSportNews. He’ll also forgo all commentary gigs bar a couple of the upcoming Australian Kart Championship rounds.
“It has been a tough decision to stop calling and reporting on the sport I love. However this is the right decision” the Victorian posted on social media.
In 2022 Mitch advised he’d spent 30 weekends of the year calling race meetings and completed over 400 media reports.
With marriage imminent, McLellan is “looking forward to having my weekends back with my family and friends.”
“We can’t thank all the kart clubs, race teams, parents, drivers and all other supporters that have supported us over 15 years.
“When I called my first meeting as a 14 year old, I never knew what the next 15 years would bring. I’ve loved every second of it though.”
From all of us here at KartSportNews (that would be me, Mark!), thanks Mitch for your years of service and all the best for the future.
