Video Highlights: WSK Champions Cup

Here’s the highlights package from the WSK Champions Cup finals at Lonato on the weekend (KZ2, OK, OK-J, Mini, Mini U10, X30 Jnr, X30 Snr – English commentary).

An “Aussie Wrap” plus report and photos were posted yesterday.

Summary

KZ2. Cristian Bertuca launched like a rocket from the second row of the grid to lead the KZ2 final and from there was untouchable! Freddie Slater a superb second in his first ever KZ race for a BirelArt 1-2!

OK. From pole position Matveev looked headed for victory in OK but was incredibly out after just a handful of laps. The Great Dane David Walther overcame not 1 but 2 Energy Karts to win for Koski Motorsport, Molnar and Stolcermanis on the podium in 2nd and 3rd.

OK-Junior. Forza Racing won the WSK Champions Cup in 2019 with Alex Dunne and they did again in 2023 – Lewis Wherrell in a class of his own, the English driver winning for the English team in dominant fashion!

MINI Gr.3. As ever Mini came down to the final corner, with 2022 WSK Final Cup winner Iskender Zulfikari crossing the line in P1 – just, ahead of Vlad Ivanikkov and Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor.

MINI Gr.3 Under 10. Oleksander Legenkyi took a nail-biting win over Antone Venant in the first ever WSK U10 Mini Final!

X30 Junior. Champions Cup 2023 at Lonato. Here the highlights of the X30 Junior Final, won by Riccardo Ferrari!

X30 Senior. The X30 class made it’s return to WSK world competition for the first time since 2016 – and it didn’t disappoint; a fabulous race saw Brando Pozzi taking a narrow win over Federico Rossi with Belgium’s Elie Goldstein in 3rd.
