Dirt Karts Conclude at Ipswich

from Kev ‘The Noise’ Davies (and Ang at the club)

The season finale at The Thunderdome (home of Ipswich City Dirt Kart Club) did not disappoint! It was a cracker of a night on Saturday, rounding out the final event of the 2022 Club Championships.

With a total of 76 entries, everyone definitely got to witness some great racing.

Senior Group One was a stand out with Ross Jones (aka Upright Ross) and Breanna Formosa (aka Bree Magee) fighting it out like an old married couple on the track. The entire Group One did a fantastic job, as did every other driver on the night.

Ham Dog won the Dash-4-Cash and Liam Kodak got it all right in the feature, but Nic McDowell got the win overall. Even with a troubled kart, Pink Bitty and Heel-Clicker Manning (otherwise known as Larissa & Shane Manning) bagged a 1-2 and Jordan Wensley reigned supreme, just to mention a few.

The Noise even had a memorable moment (or two!) at the end of a season to remember.

“I got to drive a 140cc dirt-prepped Rotax by Kodak Kartsport. Thanks Liam Kodak” The Noise reported.

“Then, as if that wasn’t enough, Mick (club president) gave me a go in The Buzzard’s twin-engine Modified 4-Stroke! OMG… mic around my neck and camera rolling, off I went – what a scream! And before anyone says ‘look how slow he’s goin’, it was a wet track!”
