Winning the KA4 Junior National AKA Championship in 2021 then backing this up winning the KA3 Senior National Championship this year, 15 year old Alex Ninovic went one better claiming the NSW State Title at Newcastle recently.
On the 20th September 2022 driving a 560 hp S5000 open wheel race car at Talem Bend S.A. for the first time, Alex went from simulator to on track success impressing Versa Motorsport boss Toby Pope.
“Our team can see real potential in Alex, his work ethic, taking on board how fast he was, as well as being accurate and consistent” Pope said.
“Based on his performance, we offered Alex the opportunity to drive one of our Versa Motorsport S5000 race cars at the Repco V8 Supercar Events at the Gold Coast and around the streets of Adelaide this year”.

“Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful getting Alex the necessary Motorsport Australia racing licence due to his age. We will continue to give him track time, further testing, into the early part of 2023 when he turns 16”, said Toby Pope.
It’s quite ironic, Alex Ninovic is a Jnr Brand Ambassador of the ‘Taking Speed Off the Roads’ campaign, where the racetrack is promoted as the legal place for speeding- not on public roads. Ian Luff said “With so many young people, being killed on our roads, our campaign showcases Motorsport and why Car Clubs provide a responsible outlet to learn how to safely manage speed”.
Having Alex on track in 2023 and racing for Versa Motorsport, this will provide a powerful cause marketing platform to associate the ‘Taking Speed off The Roads’ campaign with corporate support partner interest.
