Rowe’s Charge Forward at Rochester

Fabcon Racing’s five driver team invaded the 5th round of the Golden Power Series at the Rochester Kart Club over the weekend. The Fabcon Racing team had strong results at the recent shakedown meeting and were looking to continue this into the weekend.

The team drivers were once again Jamie Rowe competing in KA3 Senior Light & TAG 125 Light, Isabel Rowe in KA4 Junior Heavy, Nick Popple in KA3 Senior Light and Ryan Wyhoon in KA4 Junior Heavy.

Jamie Rowe was first out on circuit in the TAG 125 Light class and he did a brilliant job to qualify on the front row of the grid in 2nd position. Rowe started his weekend of racing well with a brilliant 3rd place. Rowe then struck trouble in heat 2 and 3 in the form of a lap 1 incident and a post-race infringement, resulting in finishing outside the top 10 in position 15 and 12 overall. Rowe started out of position 10 in the final but put in a scintillating drive to move up onto the podium with a brilliant 3rd place and the fastest lap of the race!

Rowe was back out on circuit in KA3 Senior Light with Nick Popple, both looking for strong results. Both drivers were able to qualify inside the top 10 with Rowe in position 4 and Popple in position 10. Rowe led the way in the heats, never leaving the top 10 and having a strong 3rd in heat 1 and 4th in heat 2.

Rowe was able to put in a brilliant performance in the final when he charged through to 2nd position, grabbing his second podium of the weekend! Popple was able to come away with another strong top 10 in his final rounding out his weekend in position 10!

Isabel Rowe and Ryan Wyhoon were the final 2 drivers to take the circuit for Fabcon Racing in the KA4 Junior Heavy class. Rowe led the way in qualifying landing on the 2nd row of the grid in 4th spot with Wyhoon just outside the top 5 in position 7. The heat races were rough and tough for both drivers with Rowe having a DNF and being outside the top 10 in the final heat. Wyhoon also had heats where he went outside the top 10 and both drivers were looking to rebound in the final.

Rowe put in one of the drives of her career in the final, charging from position 14 on the grid to jump onto the podium in a brilliant 2nd position!

Wyhoon was able to bring his way forward in the final and finish just outside the top 10 in position 11.

Team owner and manager Bryan Rowe spoke post weekend on a wild weekend of racing. “The weekend was crazy. We had so many tough moments across the heats so to come away with 3 podium results in unreal. Isabel’s drive in the final was insane and Jamie drove well in both of his finals. Both Nick and Ryan were around the top 10 and we’re looking forward to the final round”.

Fabcon Racing will be back at the final round of the Golden Power Series at the Gippsland Kart Club in late October.
