The Australians Heading To Bahrain

Four drivers will represent Australia at the 2021 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals, including a second generation racer whose dad made the podium at the event back in 2003.

For obvious reasons, this is a very small team compared to the past. Team member and crew will need to follow strict travel and covid protocols to contest this famous event, which was forced into last minute cancellation in 2020.

The 2021 edition kicks off in Bahrain next week. First practice sessions will be Monday December 13. The finals take place on Saturday, December 18. Further information to follow the event will be posted on the rotax-kart website HERE.

Our four drivers for this year are:

Hamish Fitzsimmons will race the #366 in Senior MAX. He is a two-time Rotax Light champion.
Christian Estasy (2nd in Jnr Max at the QLD State Titles) will race #365 in Senior Max in Bahrain. Christian’s dad Adrian competed in the 2003 Grand Finals in Egypt and placed third.
Kamal Mrad will be Australia’s driver in Junior MAX aboard the #234
Travis Dhu is the youngest team member and will compete aboard #33 kart in Micro Max. Travis is the Micro Max QLD State Titles Champion.
