The dust has finally settled on the Butters Warehouse Challenge, round 2 of the Dalby Kart Club championship.
New drivers continue to arrive at this small country club and 60 drivers contested the round with some outstanding performances on the tight and twisty country concrete track.
The Big Cahoona (Josh Betts) didn’t seem to have the pace this week and found himself in the drink along with president Tim Bleisner & Fast Freddy Sheppard when farmer Giles (Adrian Newton) spun out in front of them! Glenn Casey drove perfectly all afternoon to take the win ahead of Betts with Fast Freddy coming home 3rd.
Tom Dyke makes it two wins from two with a fabulous performance yet again in the Non-Gearbox 125 class beating Russell Martin into second and 3rd was the hard charging Peter RochFord.
The four strokes once again were a highlight of the days racing and Rob Carroll managed another win, beating his arch rival Mica Rodrigues. In third, and probably the highlight of the entire race day, was Kasey Welke – she drove fantastically to secure 3rd place!
The Beginners saw girl racer Charlee Mitchell take the win ahead of Dylan Whitbread and third was Ellie Sheppard.
Charlee Mitchell was also victorious in the Comer class ahead of Aston Whitbread with little Bobby Annis Brown securing third.
An excellent performance from another of the Welke racing family this time saw young Lucas take the win in Juniors, beating showbag junior Lochlan Hudson into second with Danny Betts having moved up to this class securing third.
In Open Performance, Troy Kubecek took the win ahead of Praga team mate Terry Graham with Carl Solomon in third.
Teenagers was hotly contested and once Lucas and Isaak Bliesner had a coming together in the final, that left Thomas “The Hitman” Williams to take victory with Lukas beating brother Isaak to second.
On to the next round and for sure the excitement will keep coming!
