Driver PR: Chadd Moore, Golden Power Series Rnd 2

Chadd Moore was tackling the highly competitive KA4 Junior Light class at the second round of the Golden Power Series at the Goulburn Valley Kart Club over the weekend. Moore in his Salon next door sponsored entry had a competitive showing at the opening round of the series at Rochester and was looking to continue this over the weekend.

Moore started his weekend with practice Saturday morning the split division class. The Metal Station Warragul sponsored entry hovered around the top fifteen in his respective group and around the top thirty overall. Moore hit the track for qualifying looking for some improvement. In hot paced highly skilled KA4 Junior Light class Moore showed progression improving on his practice times. The 2wo7even Design sponsored entry just missed the top thirty and was looking for more pace towards the opening heats.

Moore started out of position seventeen for the opening heat and was looking to move forward. The Panta Fuels sponsored entry achieved a lighting start jumping from position seventeen up to the top ten after one lap. Moore stayed in tenth spot in the early stages but dropped back to position eleven in the middle stages. The Tool Shed Noojee sponsored entry dug deep and pushed on through the concluding stages of the race to get back up in the top ten. Moore in a strong improvement from qualifying come home in a strong position ten.

With Moore’s Saturday over and confidence growing, Sunday couldn’t come quick enough. The heavens opened up Saturday Night and Sunday morning with heavy rain drenching the Goulburn Valley Kart Club circuit. Moore, a lover of the wet conditions out of position seventeen again for his second heat was looking for more improvement from qualifying and heat 1. Moore had another terrific start jumping into the top ten after just one lap. The DJM Race Engineering sponsored driver had moved up to position nine by lap three and up to seventh by lap five showing his strong pace in the wet. The Stony Creek Karting sponsored entry crossed the line in sixth overall a massive eleven spots up from his starting position.

Due to the worsening weather conditions the remainder of the meeting was unfortunately called off.

Chadd’s dad Shane was extremely happy with his sons fight back. “Happy with Chadd’s bounce back especially in the wet race”. Chadd noted it was a fun weekend but was shattered not to keep racing. “Overall, it was fun weekend. I’m absolutely shattered not to keep racing”.

Moore will next hit the track at the Victorian State Titles at the Oakleigh Go Kart Club in April.
