A massive 343 entries have been received for Round 1 of the Ipswich Kart Club Championship race meeting this Saturday the 6th of February.

Headlined by the 1st round of the Patrizi Finance KZ2 and KA2 Queensland Series, 17 KZ2’s and 17 KA2’s will be in action.

As always the Cadet fields are huge at Ipswich and a massive field of 37 will start in Cadet 12 and 25 in Cadet 9.

With quite a few of last year’s frontrunners in Cadet 12 graduating up to Juniors, the KA4 Junior Light is also quite large at 31 entries.

KA3 Senior will be one of the most entertaining classes to watch as quite a contingent of interstate drivers have travelled to take on the extremely strong locals in a 28 kart field. KA3 Junior again has presented a strong field of 16.

The Senior 4 Stroke contingent have entered in reasonable numbers, 27 in total will be lining up in the combined 4SS Senior classes.

Open Performance will be making a rare appearance at Ipswich for this Round and a very strong field of 24 will put on an entertaining show.

The TAG classes, Light and Heavy have seen quite an influx of new drivers coming up from racing TAG Restricted last year, especially TAG Heavy and an impressive 23 entries have been received. TAG Light is packed full of talent amongst the 28 kart field.

TAG Restricted classes at Ipswich have had a huge boost in new numbers due to the ongoing efforts and success of the IKC Come and Try Days and Saturday Night Socials and highlighted by the 17 entries in TAG Restricted Medium, with 7 first time competitors in this class alone. The TAG Restricted Masters guys have entered in force with a total of 15, whilst TAG Restricted Light has a massive 34 entries.

Racing will get underway at 8.00am and with such a huge programme is not expected to conclude until 8.00pm followed by presentation.
