The 2020 schedule for Karting Australia’s introductory program – the SP Tools Junior Sprockets – has been confirmed.
Catering for newcomers to the sport aged between 6 and 12 years of age, the SP Tools Junior Sprockets program provides an opportunity for youngsters to sample the sport in a safe and controlled environment.
With more than 200 participants experiencing the program in 2019, many of which have graduated into the racing ranks, it provides the perfect introduction to karting.
Graduates from the Junior Sprockets program continue to find their way on podiums across the country at all levels of the sport – the most recent coming at the Ultimate Club Racer 1 event where Corey Carson was victorious.
The expanded schedule for 2020 will see the program begin with a return to Western Australia before visiting South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania throughout 2020.
“Throughout the past four years we’ve worked hard on continually developing the Junior Sprockets program to be a centrepiece in providing the opportunity for youngsters to ‘Get Started in Karting’,” said Karting Australia Chief Executive Officer Kelvin O’Reilly.
“We’re constantly looking at avenues on how we can spread the word about the sport and looking to ensure that we provide the opportunity for as many Clubs across the country to benefit from the Junior Sprockets program. I’m delighted to be able to confirm that we’re heading to Western Australia and Tasmania again in 2020.
“By having the schedule for the full year available now it provides everyone with the opportunity to plan and the local Clubs to best prepare for a visit by the program.”
Host Clubs will be confirmed in the coming weeks followed by registrations opening shortly after.
