Australian Kart Racers Alliance (AKRA) has launched a new website to handle licence processing and online race meeting entries.
The site includes information about AKRA, info for clubs, results & timing, FAQs, the previously mentioned licence and entry functions, plus tyre sales.
AKRA’s founder Troy Boldy said he has been fielding calls from clubs around Australia looking to do something similar to Toowoomba.
The Toowoomba club has not been under the umbrella of Karting Australia since March last year. On the weekend it enjoyed 130 entries at its combined Winter Carnival / Club championship round.
Boldy says AKRA provides clubs the flexibility to run events the way they want to run them, by specifying their own formula around tyres, class weights, engine eligibility, restrictor size, etc.
“We acknowledge affordable, fun, club karting isn’t for everyone” Boldy said. “There will always be those people that have big budgets. Fortunately for them, there are no shortage of events hosted by other governing bodies to accommodate their needs”.
