Preview: IKC 4SS Titles

The thunder of the 4-strokes will be the centre of attention this Saturday at Ipswich Kart Club as a massive contingent of 4SS entries compete for the IKC 4SS Titles, which also doubles as the 1st Round of the Coolum Karts Triple Crown.

4SS Junior is seeing some wonderful growth and fantastic racing of late and a huge contingent of 18 Juniors will be very entertaining to watch. Amongst the favourites will be Finn Woodley, Jackson Greenhalgh, Jordan Briggs and Hayden Egan. Xander Jacobi, Joe Bonnano, Cooper Crawford, Charlie Stratford, Jaidan Geldard, Lachy Rice, Henry Stratford and newcomers Sebastian Simonelli and Cody Scott will all be in the mix as well and challenging for the podium placings.

4SS Senior Light has a strong field of 12 entries, led by Jack Munro, Hayden Hume and Coby Tucker. Keeping them honest will be Sam Greenhalgh, Brynn Pearce and Mitch Rice. 4SS Senior Medium has 9 entries but this will be a very strongly contested class with Scott Pearce, Brody Jarvis and Kevin Johnston the likely frontrunners. Tim Baker, Damian Poole, Nigel Ward and Danial Lawler will also figure prominently in the placings.

4SS Supermaxx Medium will be a fascinating contest as the talent at the front will feature the likes of Kevin Johnston, Jack Munro, Scott Pearce, Hayden Nissen, James Hogan, Brynn Stewart and Craig Nissen. Craig Silcox, Kevin Davis and Tom Tucker will be amongst the favourites in 4SS Supermaxx Heavy with Jason Ramsay and Edward Arendt keeping them honest.

Along with all the other normal IKC Club Championship classes, a total of 218 entries have been received, which is an amazing figure considering that about 40 regular IKC Club Championship competitors are away at the AKC Round in South Australia.

With so many of the local hotshots away at AKC, the Cadet 9, Cadet 12 and KA4 Junior classes in particular will be hotly contested by many drivers who would normally not feature on the podium at Ipswich, so this has presented a great opportunity for many of the Cadets and Juniors and it will be exciting to see who will be able to take advantage and feature prominently.

Competition starts at 8.00am on Saturday and the 4SS Feature Classes will contest their Finals at approximately 7.00pm to 8.00pm.
