Ipswich Kart Club has advised of the passing of former Club & Queensland President and AKA Life Member, Bob Edyvean.
“It is with a very heavy heart that we let the Club know that sadly, Bob drove his last race on Friday at 4:15am. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and in their loving arms” the club posted.

“We paid homage to Bob and his amazing achievements at IKC back in March with the KA100 Titles and we were honoured to have Bob attend. It was amazing to see him back at the Club that he not only loved but was the driving force in building.
“His contribution to Karting in general over his many years was legendary and he will be terribly missed by all. Condolences to his family and friends in this time.”
Bob’s funeral is on Monday, July 13 at the Warrill View Lawn Cemetery in Ipswich at 1pm. A livestream of the service will be available.
Earlier this year, Edyvean wrote of the creation of the famous Willowbank circuit. Read that article HERE.
