In an effort to support club level racing, Supercars team owner Brad Jones is supporting a multi-event club-level series involving several regional clubs in Victoria and New South Wales.
It’s aimed at club racers to provide them with further experience at other venues without the pressure of, say, a GPS or AKC round.
Contested at five tracks across three weekends, the Brad Jones Interclub Challenge will see the participating clubs accumulate points based on their drivers’ results.
“This one is all about club pride, bragging rights and being crowned the Champion Club” organisers posted.
The series kicks off at Rochester on Saturday May 16, then everyone will de-camp and move across to Numurkah for the second round the following day, Sunday May 17.
Round three is at Griffith on July 11, then another double-header to finish off at Wagga (Sat, Sep 26) and Albury-Wodonga (Sun Sep 27).
Entries lodged prior May 8 go into random draws for tyres and other prizes.
Race Format:
- 2 practice sessions
- 3 heats and a final
- Random Grid Racing
- All heat points count toward the Brad Jones Challenge
- Open to eligible classes listed in the supp regs
So the question is… Which club is going to stand up? Which club is going to bring the numbers? Which club is going to earn the bragging rights?
And which club will be the first to lift the Brad Jones Challenge Trophy?
