Australia’s James Anagnostiadis is joint leader of the OK category after the opening round of the Champions Of The Future series at La Conca.

The Mercedes Junior driver (KR/IAME) finished P2 in the final to Dean Hoogendoorn (Parolin/TM) with Lev Krutoholov (Energy/IAME) third.

After winning his Super Heat, Anagnostiadis started P2 but dropped to third at the start. He soon recovered and a late race charge saw him within 4-tenths of the leader before his tyres fell away at the end.

A strong Super Heat saw William Calleja just scrape through to the final. Starting dead last (36th), the Parolin driver made up the most positions of anyone in the race to cross the line 16th and set second-fastest lap of the race. Unfortunately, a 5-second penalty dropped him to P22.

In OK Junior, neither Ava Lawrence or Jay Kostecki were able to progress to the Final and ended the event ranked 56th and 57th respectively (out of 93 starters). Tony Kart’s Julian Frasnelli took victory ahead of Priam Bruno and Daniel Lorente (both KR).
