Karting Australia is inviting applications from suitable drivers to contest both the Junior and Senior FIA Karting Academy Trophies.
For 2026, the Academy Trophy – Junior is open to drivers born in 2012 to 2014 inclusive, while Academy Trophy – Senior provides the opportunity for drivers born in 2009 to 2012 inclusive to represent their country on the international stage.
Karting Australia says it will have a representative in both the Junior and Senior Academy Trophies.
Drivers who have scored at least one point in an FIA Karting European Championship event, or who have been ranked within the top 15 of an Intermediate Classification, Final Intermediate Classification, or the Final of the FIA Karting World Championship in the previous and/or current year, are not eligible to participate in the Trophy.
The FIA Karting Academy Trophy is designed to identify and develop young driving talent, with all competitors racing on identical equipment. Originally just a junior category, last year saw the Academy Trophy expand to include a Senior division.

Applications to represent Australia in 2026 are now open. Fill in the applicable application form on the Karting Australia website HERE. Applications close 5:00pm Friday January 30.
In addition to travelling to and from Europe for each round, there are other significant costs. The entry fee is €3500 plus €1500 deposit (approx $6000 AUD + $2570 deposit), but that does include a race suit. There’s also the tyre bill (€215 / $370 per set), fuel and damage costs for each round.
