CHASSIS SWITCH – Ward Racing will switch chassis brands for 2026. The renowned Swedish team has been synonymous with Tony Kart for many years, but has now reached an arrangement to run Parolin. The first on-track appearance is scheduled for the opening round of the WSK Super Master Series at La Conca.

RIP JOAQUIM – It has been confirmed a karter was one of the 40 victims in the tragic New Year’s Eve fire at Crans-Montana. 18-year-old Swiss driver Joaquim van Thuyne was celebrating at the venue with his junior football teammates. “Joaquim’s professionalism, kindness and his passion for sport left a lasting impression on all who knew him and competed alongside him” FIA Karting posted. “During the early years of his career competing in Switzerland, Joaquim demonstrated a love for motor sport and great promise, including a recent top‑ten finish in the highly contested X30 Challenge Switzerland.”

SELL OUT – Ipswich Kart Club’s inaugural “Future Champions Clinic” is full. 35 new drivers are booked in for the event on Saturday, January 17. “We kick off at 11am and with our awesome team of driver trainers and club members, all attendees will be well trained to ensure their transition to racing at IKC is an enjoyable experience” the club posted.

POLL RESULT – Seems it was a not-so-merry Christmas in 2025! Almost 78% of you said there was nothing karting related in your Christmas, which compares to 69.7% when we asked the same question in 2022.

PINEAPPLES – Ipswich Kart Club will again offer the Pineapple Cup Series at selected IKC Championship Rounds in 2026. The Feature Classes this year will be KA2 Junior and X30 Senior. Round 1 will be on Saturday the 31st of January, Round 2 on Saturday the 2nd of May and Round 3 will be the Ipswich Race of Champions on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of August. Entries for Round 1 are expected to open Thursday this week, 15th January.
