A new exhaust socket for Rotax engines competing in TaG Restricted classes has been approved by Karting Australia. The updated component features a profiled design that replaces the current flat plate restrictor.
“Competitors can expect a noticeable performance improvement, along with easier and more consistent engine tuning thanks to the new design” IKD posted.
“We expect that this new restrictor will allow Rotax engines to race competitively in TAG Restricted once again.”
“Importantly, this approval also means Rotax engines can now be run in TAG-R using the latest cylinder specification. We know some racers previously preferred the older cylinder with the flat plate restrictor, and this update addresses that concern.”
With the KA approval now confirmed, IKD has advised Rotax to begin production. Stock is expected to be available around February or March.
