A uniform set of technical regulations will be used in Superkart racing in 2026.

The Superkart National Technical Committee (SNTC, comprised of four state-based Superkart clubs) confirmed that the Australian Motor Racing Council (AMRC) and Motorsport Australia (MA) have formally accepted its updated Superkart Technical Regulations. These will be published on the MA website in Q1 of 2026.

“This milestone represents the culmination of three years of sustained effort and consultation, resulting in one of the most significant updates to Superkarting in Australia in recent history” a Superkart National Technical Committee statement read.

“The SNTC extends its sincere thanks to the Victorian Superkart Club for their leadership in drafting the initial document, and to every committee and club member nationwide who contributed to refining and strengthening these regulations.”

In a positive move for the sport, Motorsport Australia has confirmed that clubs are welcome to adopt these regulations for use outside of MA-sanctioned events. This means “…for the first time, we have a nationally consistent and unified rule set across all Superkart activities.

“The SNTC also wishes to remind members that proposed amendments to the regulations may be submitted at any time through your state’s SNTC representative. However, in accordance with MA’s directive, any changes that do not relate to safety or supply issues will only be incorporated into the rule set in Q1 of the following year. This ensures that each championship season is conducted under a stable and consistent set of regulations from start to finish.

“Thank you again to everyone involved for your dedication, expertise, and commitment to the future of our sport.

Kind regards,
The Superkart National Technical Committee (SNTC)

Ian Williams (Adelaide Superkart Club)
Mark Robin (Superkart Club of New South Wales)
Doug Amiss (Queensland Superkart Club)
Rod Clarke (Victorian Superkart Club)
