For the second year running, Ipswich Kart Club has hosted a hugely successful “Empowering Women in Karting” event, with 30 females participating in the female only Come and Try Day.
Females ranging from 6 years old to 42 years old participated and everyone seemed to have a great time. Ipswich Kart Club female members, led by Ipswich Kart Club Girls Race Too Ambassador Stephanie Duffy, ran the day and they had a fantastic time interacting with all the newcomers.
The special guest speaker this year was Romy Mayer from Supercars team PremiAir Nulon Racing and Romy spoke to all the participants about her journey as a female in motorsport and gave some very interesting insights. She then spent quite a bit of time interacting with the girls as they prepared for and took their turns on track.

The “Empowering Women in Karting” event has now become a regular event on the Ipswich Kart Club Calendar and was very well supported by Karting Australia through the Girls Race Too program.
