Queensland’s Hamish Campbell has capped off a stellar year by securing runner-up honours in the KA2 Junior Championship at the final round of the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship in Coffs Harbour.

In a season defined by pace, perseverance, and consistency, Campbell fought hard across the weekend and sealed second place in the overall championship standings. His performance throughout the season, marked by fastest laps, resilience under pressure, and determination to fight to the very end, cements his reputation as one of the brightest young talents in Australian karting.

Campbell’s rise has been underlined by his maiden AKC victory at Ipswich earlier this year, followed by a clean sweep at the City of Melbourne Titles and multiple strong podiums on the international stage. These results highlight the momentum he now carries as he continues to build toward the next stage of his career.

“To finish second in the Australian Kart Championship is something I’m proud of,” said Hamish.

“We’ve worked incredibly hard as a team, and while we just fell short of the title, this season has given me so much confidence for the future. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the OTK Kart Group for the support they have provided me this season. To have their faith in me representing such a prestigious brand, and to be part of the journey in rebuilding this incredible kart marque, is a real honour.”

This runner-up finish adds weight to an already outstanding season and ensures Campbell remains firmly in the spotlight as one of Australia’s leading junior drivers. With both domestic and international campaigns still in motion, the journey is far from over.
