Retro Karting Australia made its way to ‘Tropical North Victoria,’ where the Mildura Kart Club hosted the latest round of the Oceania Series and crowned the South Australian State Titles. This was round 3 for the Clubman class drivers and round 2 for F100.
This was a new track for many of the drivers that attended and throwing in the challenge of racing under lights, it produced some great racing across all categories.

Thank you to the Mildura Kart Club for being amazing and welcoming hosts!
Coming up: The Oceania Series for 2025 will conclude for F100 at the Geelong Kart Club on August 17 doubling as the State Cup and the Clubman classes will conclude at the Tony Agland Memorial at the recently reopened Grenfell Kart Club on August 29-31.

That leads us to the big one – the 2025 Retro Karting Australia Nationals at Puckapunyal, November 14-16.

Reif Corbett claimed his first F100 State Title win cruising home to a 2 second win but it was an action packed final! Fastest qualifier Jackson Evans went with Corbett early but his kart came to a halt on lap 9 which gave Corbet a comfortable lead over now 2nd placed Ryan Aitken. After being in the top 3 all day and winning heat 1, round 1 winner Greg Ritter DNFed the pre-final but charged through the field from 13th, taking the fastest lap and pulling off a last lap move to claim 2nd place and the Over 50s Title. Aitken improved throughout the day and brought himself into contention come finals time to finish 3rd. Another to DNF the pre-final after being top 5 was Danny Richert. The Winter Cup winner moved his way through the field in the final from 12th to 4th. Paul Rodgers rounded out the top 5 making his way through the field throughout the day after a drama in qualifying and a DNS in heat 1.

Andrew Cash successfully defended his South Australian Title in commanding fashion. Ryan Portelli qualified fastest and won heat 1 but from there Cashy made his way to lead winning heat 2, the pre-final and final. The margin looked tight on paper but Cashy looked very comfortable out front, holding 2nd place finisher David Musgrave at bay. Portelli was not outside of the top 3 all day and rounded out the podium. Aaron Jackson had a consistent day to come home 4th and Bruce Otter claimed the Over 50s Title in 5th place.

Current Australian Champion Chris Sandrone once again showed his craft, qualifying fastest and winning every race, running away in the final to a comfortable win. However, it all happened behind him as the rest of the drivers all had their challenges! Lucas Lichtenberger claimed 2nd in the final starting from 5th. After qualifying 3rd a DNF in heat 2 meant it was a recovery mission in the pre-final and final to get back to the top. South Australian Matt ‘Biscuits’ Mahar claimed a podium spot with a strong 3rd after starting 8th. Biscuits had a 2nd and 3rd in the heats so the speed was good but a rough pre-final saw him drop to 8th. Ian Beeraz finished 4th and Paul Hamilton had a consistent day to finish 5th.
